My Most Memorable Heart's Day

 The day of romance and love is Valentine's Day. It's the day you celebrate love with the ones who are most important to you. You may do it with your loved ones, a friend, or a particular someone. Valentine's Day is about more than just romance; it's also a day to show your love and affection for the people in your life. Giving gifts and letters are one of the ways to show your love towards them.  Every year, I celebrate valentine's with my mama. We would go on different places and try out food. We would also buy the things we've been wanting as a way of spoiling ourselves. With just the two of us celebrating, I am still able to enjoy it, because my mama is the most special person in my life. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to buy her a gift because of how busy I was with school. So, we just went out and ate. This year, my valentine's day is much different. Intayon ag Kannawidan!

 Every year between the final week of January and the first week of February, the Kannawidan Festival is held. It is the Ilocanos' way of thanking the Almighty for both their many bounties and the province's rich legacy, which includes their close-knit familial relationships. Kannawidan means "nakaugalian" or "tradition" in Tagalog. This festival was established to highlight the rich culture of the province in a variety of areas, including the arts, agriculture, music, food, and more. It is customary for a mass to be celebrated at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral during the festival's official opening. Then, it is followed by a procession  of the Patron Saints of the 40 parishes and images of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary around Vigan City.    The events in Kannawidan are plenty.
